BEHIND THE FOUNDER

Jude Rhodes

As a Yorkshire woman, my journey into the fabric of my home country began through the tales of my ancestors. This grew in me, a passion, a personal desire to explore more into my beloved family and Yorkshire. Through my family's history, revealed the dual magic of our family roots and the North of England itself, steering me towards a career in genealogy and family history.

Since then, for over twenty years, I have had the privilege of reconstructing the narratives of many families, striving to deliver clarity, deeper family connection, and self-identity as it did for me. My approach is tailored from family to family. Offering personalised genealogical services, from one of one books for families who are living with dementia, to ancestral visits for those keen on linking their family to a place and community.

‘B’ FAMILY

What is the length of time this will take?

Approx 1-3 months. Research and writing time can vary greatly depending on the information provided from the onset and the depth of research required to fulfil your request. Sometimes the first report triggers the client’s inquisitiveness and a further research journey is negotiated..

What information do you require?

The more information you have the better, however a good start would be:

  • Full names

  • Dates of birth

  • Places they lived

  • Where they worked

  • Birth Certificates

  • Death certificates

  • Newspaper Articles

  • Employment Records

Are consultations in person or over the phone?

Initial consultations are done by telephone as are follow up and update consultations. Meetings in person or Zoom are dependent on your geographical location.

However, I also like to make at least one visit to the research family geographical area to assist in writing your story, wherever possible.
Zoom / Teams for follow ups is an option
